Another good weekend.. happy to welcome Karen, Mandy & Riley to Flyball Training - what a great little dog Riley is and really took to the Flyball!!
Another welcome to Dawn & Tegan and Ali & Theo who came to our Beginners Agility today - both dogs again took to it really well & all enjoyed themselves - looking forward to seeing you all next week!!

Patches is going in for her first competition in a couple of weeks at RCS, Wadebridge - am hoping to be able to get over there to watch her, I filmed some of her agility training this afternoon..

I am now running a Beginners Flyball training during the week on Thursdays at 6pm, we start on the 12th & carry on every week.. this is for all of those who cannot make it to Saturday's sessions, but if you do already come to Sat sessions and would like an extra one then there's no reason why you couldn't come along to Thursdays as well... all are welcome to either or both sessions..

Next puppy course begins on Saturday 21st April at 12.30 and Junior Obedience starts on the same day at 2.00, please have a look at http://aheadofthepack.net/Juniors.aspx for further details or get in touch with me on here.
Also - Midweek Flyball training is planned to start in the next couple of weeks - am gauging the interest before we definitely go ahead so please get in touch if you would like to have a go but maybe cannot make the Saturday sessions..
And, finally, Puppy/Junior Introduction to Agility is starting on Sunday 29th April - for pups between 8 and 12 months, although they are a little too young to do the full range of agility we have tailored training sessions just for the wee ones whose owners are really keen to get going on agility!!!
  It will introduce them to the two tunnels, a minature dog walk, pause box, poles (as opposed to jumps), see-saw and the obedience commands required (sit, down, wait etc).   Come along and have a good time with your pup, learn new skills and make new friends and once your pup has reached 12 months old then move up to the Beginners/Intermediate group.

Am very very happy to report that Jackson was found this evening and is on his way back home to his own bed :-)   His family have been through hell these last 3 days - I would like to thank, on their behalf, everyone that has got involved in the search for Jackson through my site - every single person that re-posted or told someone else has contributed in the search - I am so happy that there are so many like-minded people out there that would go that extra mile to help.. thank you all :-)

Another good weekend..

2nd Flyball session went well (apart from the massive rain "shower" halfway through..)
Flyball is going well considering that this was only the second week,  we know that all the dogs can hurdle and they love to catch tennis balls.. now we just have to link the two together... and a bit of retrieve training is in order :-)
We had a newcomer this week.. the lovely Poppy (Sprocker), I've known her since she was a young pup - although she was a bit bemused by it to start off with she started to get the hang of it - she has only done a tiny amount of agility recently but she will do anything for a tennis ball so I have high hopes for her :-)
    Jasper  very much impressed everyone with his weaves at agility practice today & I'm happy to say that his recall is getting better.  Red was a little star again - her dogwalk contacts are coming on a treat.. and again, her recall was great..  it just goes to show that a short amount of time  in a group training environment pays dividends as far as obedience levels go..
Top of the Class this week has to go to Patches at Flyball.. not only did she hurdle the whole lane, trigger the box, retrieve the ball & go back down the lane with the ball... she decided that jumping the hurdles was so much fun that she would do the second lane as well :-)

Hi all, My first attempt at blogging.. I've got no idea what I'm doing so any help would be very much appreciated... But if I just tell you all how good this weekend's training has gone would be a good start..

1st Flyball session went really well - Patches was an absolute star over the hurdles but slightly lost the plot when she reached the flyball box & jumped over it to smother me in doggy licks ?-)
 
Beginners Agility was good today - a couple of new dogs and owners came, we had the new toy.. a 12' flat tunnel, we started the training slowly & carefully but within about 3 minutes Red & Jasper were absolutely storming through it :-) So a big thumbs up there!!
